PRESS
Exceptionally staged by director Krista Jackson, almost every square inch of the playing area is used effectively and with purpose. Arranged as a thrust stage, every audience member is treated fairly, with well-distributed access to the nuances of each performance, while ensuring everyone is able to enjoy all of the pivotal moments. The spacing between the actors is dynamic and fluid, with a constant sense of attack, retreat or surrender. There is also a bounty of rich imagery and “still life” moments that capture both the anguish and the joy that are inherent in a 25-year marriage.

Krista Jackson’s smart, energetic, direction keeps the humour and heart of the show pumping and beating along. The staging is effortless in establishing how well these characters know each other. And Krista Jackson is not afraid to have that edge of aggravation be present in the actors’ performances of these characters who are on edge because of their troubled marriage.
